So here is the bantha poodoo reported by Collider… And I quote!
“Two independent sources with knowledge of the situation tell Collider that the Obi-Wan series has been put on hold, as the crew that had assembled at Pinewood Studios in London was sent home. A timeframe was not given, but the crew was told that the show would be down indefinitely.” Collider
Now isn’t this some bantha poodoo or what? The one live action movie or series the fans all want is a KENOBI spin off, and it’s like these knuckleheads can’t get it together.
This is not just due to the toxic nature of sites like “Geeks & Gamers” on YouTube, and others like them who keep spewing hate at everything Lucasfilms/Disney puts out without even given it a chance. I for one remember the shitfest they made over “Star Wars: Resistance” and I for one loved it. Great show for kids to be introduced into SW who might have not ever seen the movies of the Galaxy far far away.
But to me this is more because Disney/Lucasfilms have become chickenshit to the property with given how bad The Last Jedi, Solo, and now Rise of Skywalker have done. PLUS! I think since Mandalorian is a big hit for Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni who have been rumored to take the job of Kathleen Keneddy once her contract is up she’s being extra nitpicky again to try and make sure it can top Mandalorian. The only problem is we have all seen where her mind has been in full blown gender politics in the movies. So I’m worried this will become another mess because of her.
A week ago rumors started swirling that the Disney+ series spin off based on the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi was in danger, and then word came out that no it’s safe, and now here we are again. This with the star ready to go, and one who’s been on board from before they announced this whole thing.
Ewan McGregor is ready, and able to reprise his role from the Star Wars prequels in a story set eight years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. Which sets it perfect for many seasons of the show if it’s a hit, and this is like I said the one the fans really want to see.
Screenwriter Hossein Amini (Drive) and director Deborah Chow (The Mandalorian) were tapped to spearhead the series, and production was on pace to begin this year. The word now it’s been delayed because the Notorious Kathleen Keneddy is at it again, and is said to not be happy with the direction of the show, and scripts. This cannot be good as in the last 3 times she’s meddled into the films they have become dumpster fire in the eyes of most fans.
This entire b.s has become as hard to understand as how it is that Keneddy still has her job. Disney needs to make the Kenobi series or films. This is what the fans want, and again with a legacy actor alive, and most importantly signed on, and who WANTS to be in more STAR WARS. I just hope Disney doesn’t allow another major fuck up in the galaxy far far away.
