The Dark Knight trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan is returning to theaters for a limited time! Well sort off… So far it’s opening up in Hong Kong and Taiwan as theaters begin to reopen during the pandemic in what some are saying is nuts! But with his trailer for Tenet dropping and this news it’s a fun time to be a Nolan fan. He’s a fantastic film maker, and his Batman movies are the cinematic crown jewel of the BATMAN films.
He got to bring to life from his own mind 3 movies which we’re serious, well thought out, and had both amazing acting but also great storytelling, score, and so many things which make those movies classics. Christian Bale played the Dark Knight in the Nolan trilogy, and he is to date the most successful actor to play the part as he got to play the role for an entire trilogy.
Michael Keaton got 2 movies, Val Kilmer was Batman Forever for one movie, and well I don’t like to mention the last entry in that movie cause “BAT NIPPLES” but we all know George Clooney was Batman in the worst movie ever made. Then we got 2 movies which were disjointed, messed with, and totally sucked balls with Ben Affleck .
Coming off those hot messes, and making a trilogy of Batman movies which were epic wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t easy to bring the fans back into trusting that you would take the source material serious. The WB trusted Nolan, and he along with Bale delivered, and now as we’re all trying to figure out how we’re going to re open the economies of the world, and get people back to work the film industry which had also taken a big hit over the last few months are going to be probably relying more, and more on streaming tech to get their movies out.
But with that I do hope theatrical movies don’t become a thing of the past, and we do get to see them still put out films on the big screen.
Starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader, the Dark Knight films showed fans the origin of the DC hero, as well as his struggles to balance living as both billionaire Bruce Wayne and the masked vigilante.
Since 2005, the trilogy has grossed $2.46 billion worldwide. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, each film of the trilogy grossed historical rates, with Batman Begins earning $1.8 million, The Dark Knight earning $7.55 million and The Dark Knight Rises earning $10.35 million.
The Dark Knight also gave fans an Oscar-winning performance from Heath Ledger as The Joker. Although he had plans to reprise his role as the Clown Prince of Crime, his performance in the film would stand as one of Ledger’s last, as he passed away shortly before the premiere.
The trilogy will be released ahead of Nolan’s newest thriller film Tenet, set to release on July 17. Notably, that film stars Robert Pattinson, who’ll play the next incarnation of Bruce Wayne in The Batman.
Directed and co-written by Matt Reeves , The Batman stars Robert Pattinson , Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Jayme Lawson and Peter Sarsgaard. The film arrives in theaters Oct. 1, 2021.
This lockdown isn’t forever nothing is… Just ask Val Kilmer! HA! Sorry had to go there.
