|Stealing a sign out of someone’s yard is a felony. It’s obvious these women are oblivious to the fact. Let’s make them famous… As they have been BUSTED! Chief Tom Wightman did not identify the woman who turned herself in, but said all three of the women are 18 or 19 years old and all three have been identified. Two of the women, however, have yet to be interviewed by a detective. He confirmed the theft occurred in the city limits, but he did not release additional information.
A social media post from Grace – @C_lemons666 shows three women flipping the middle finger and a Trump sign with the tag: “We stole a giant Trump sign last night lol.”
The name on the photo is Robin Uicker, whose Facebook page identifies her as a Howell High School graduate. A message to her was not immediately returned, and Wightman could not positively say Uicker is the one who turned herself in. Flash mob for Trump pops up in Brighton The trio could face criminal charges. Wes Nakagiri, coordinator for the Trump for President campaign in Livingston County, called the theft “a form of rigging the election” because the theft is one way to influence the election “in an unlawful way.” Wes Nakagiri “The extension of (the) finger suggests it’s not a Trump fan,” he added. “It’s amazing how mean-spirited some people can be. … It’s interfering with people’s First Amendment rights and political speech.”
Judy Daubenmier, chairwoman for the Livingston County Democratic Party, called Nakagiri’s comment “absurd (and) insane.” She said the comments are an example of how far “off the deep end” the Republican Party has gone in the last few years. “Does he not understand how elections are run?” she asked. “Elections are overseen by the township and city clerks. In Livingston County, they are all Republicans.” Nakagiri said at least five “large signs, possibly more” have been stolen. Nakagiri said each of the signs, which measure about 4 feet by 8 feet, costs the campaign about $100 each. Nakagiri said one supporter paid more than $300 to personally make a Trump sign to replace the one stolen in the supporter’s yard. Judy Daubenmier said the Democratic Party also has had signs stolen, although none as large as the Republican Party because they can’t afford the larger signs.
“This happens all the time,” she said. “It’s in no way related to rigging the election. If Trump voters think the election is rigged, maybe they should stay home if they don’t trust the process.” Nakagiri said he saw the Facebook post of the women flipping the middle finger, which he said was disappointing. “Disappointing puts it mildly that this stuff occurs,” he said. “I personally wouldn’t do that to the other side. I wouldn’t think anyone I am associated with would do that.”
